Perry Castañeda Library Renovations
The University of Texas at Austin
The Perry Castañeda Library renovations have been a series of phased projects to reconfigure, modernize and improve workflow and student service on the main floor of the largest library on the UT Austin campus.
“The continual evolution of the library environment means that spaces need to be flexible enough to respond to future changes.”
Since 2013, E+M has been involved in 6 separate improvement projects at PCL. The overarching goals of the renovation have been to simplify and improve customer service, create innovative environments for student success, and provide spaces that students actually want to use to encourage them to stay on campus to study and socialize.
E+M designed each space with future flexibility in mind, implementing modular construction that can be altered or supplemented to meet evolving needs or moved to another location within the facility should it be required.
