About

Kathleen Mulhausen is a leader in the understanding and improvement of human environments implemented through a multitude of renovation and new construction projects. Throughout her career, Kathleen has worked on renowned healthcare and educational facilities such as Baylor Scott & White Health, Christus Spohn Health System, Seton Healthcare, St. David’s Healthcare, Woodwinds Health Campus, Texas A&M Health Science Center, Texas State University, University of Texas at Austin and UTSA. She is passionate about the role that design can play at the intersection of healthcare and education environments as well as the workplace strategy of organizations.

Prior to partnering with Harmony Edwards to form Edwards + Mulhausen Interior she served as Director of Interior Design at Carson Design Associates, Project Designer at Page Southerland Page Architecture and NBBJ. Kathleen has been an active member of the Austin design community for the past 23 years including her role as a guest lecturer at Texas State University and student mentorship programs at the University of Texas Interior Design program, The Girls School of Austin and Westlake High School.

Kathleen applies a philosophy of human-centered design that delivers an improved user experience and functional efficiency through a deep understanding of the lives of the people that utilize the space.
